The 18th Annual Meeting of ASNO 2023:
Illuminating Insights and Global Connections in The Island of God - Bali, Indonesia

Explore the key moments from the recently concluded 18th Annual Meeting of the Asian Society for Neuro-Oncology (ASNO), hosted by the Indonesian Society for Neuro-Oncology (InaSNO). Under the theme "Building Capacity for Neuro-Oncology in Asia: Existing Opportunity and Future Directions," the meeting took place at the picturesque Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sanur, Bali, Indonesia, on 25^th-29^th of October 2023.

A remarkable aspect of the event was the diverse participation, with a total of 375 participants from 21 different countries and different specialties from Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Psychiatrists, Radiation oncologists, Radiologists, Pediatric and Adult Oncologists, Clinical Pathologists, Pathologists, Anesthesiologists, Neuroscientists, General Practitioners, Residents, and Allied Health Professionals, contributing to a rich global perspective. The exchange of insights and ideas was greatly enhanced by a remarkable assembly of 57 speakers, moderators, and facilitators. Noteworthy contributors included individuals from various corners of the globe, such as Mitchel S. Berger, Gelareh Zadeh, Susan Chang, Patrick Y. Wen, Jay Jiguang Zhu, Serra Kamer, Zarnie Lwin, Michael Buckland, Rakesh Jalali, and numerous others.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The agenda featured thoughtfully curated teaching courses, clinical trial scholar sessions, a neuropathology program, and engaging educational discussions. These sessions not only provided a platform for the exchange of ideas but also cultivated an atmosphere of collaboration and warmth. Thematic sessions showcased the depth of expertise with engaging discussions on related topics. There were also keynote lectures, delivered by global luminaries, shed light on the latest advances in neuro-oncology, creating an intellectual landscape that inspires future breakthroughs.

  

 

 At the heart of the event was the scientific exhibition and e-poster viewing, featuring a total of 176 e-posters. It served as a hub for vibrant discussions, where professionals, united by a shared commitment to neuro-oncology, interacted and built connections that transcended geographical boundaries. Additionally, oral presentations, with a total of 27 presenters, provided a valuable platform for participants to share their research and case reports, contributing to the collective effort to enhance patient outcomes.

 

Several crucial meetings were held throughout ASNO Bali 2023, including the ASNO Committee Meeting, ASNO-SNO Business Meeting, ASNO Executive Board Meeting, InaSNO Meeting, and the General Assembly. These gatherings proved highly effective, addressing vital topics and shaping the future trajectory of the oncology community.

 

The ASNO 2023 Faculty Dinner at the Beach Garden Hyatt Regency Sanur-Bali was a delightful memory. Invited faculty members came together for an evening of networking, fellowship, and shared visions for the future of neuro-oncology.
